Welcome to Mersey Drive Community Primary School
On behalf of the children, staff and governors we are delighted to welcome you to Mersey Drive Community Primary School. Mersey Drive is an inclusive, happy and welcoming school committed to providing the highest quality education for all our pupils. Our dedicated staff and governors work together to ensure all children fulfil their potential in a positive, nurturing and safe learning environment where they feel valued and cared for.
Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.
Through our aspirational ‘Believe to Achieve’ ethos, all pupils are encouraged to strive for academic and personal excellence, and every child’s individual talents are developed and celebrated. Mersey Drive is a school where differences are valued, diversity is celebrated and equality is positively promoted. We strive to develop a culture of inclusion and diversity in which all those connected to the school feel proud of their identity and are able to participate fully in school life.
Our broad and rich curriculum has been carefully designed to engage and stimulate our pupils’ curiosity about the world ensuring that they become highly motivated, enthusiastic learners who flourish academically, emotionally and socially. The rich and varied curriculum provides wonderful learning and enrichment opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom, alongside providing a safe and nurturing space for every child. We ensure that our learners develop maths and literacy levels to equip them to continue their learning journey and achieve social and economic fulfilment.
Our motto: ‘Enjoy learning; aim high!’ is embedded across all aspects of school life.
We work in partnership with parents and carers, to ensure that our children develop the confidence, skills and resilience needed to equip them to go onto the next stage in their education and beyond. We strive to know our community as best we can and use this knowledge to plan for the needs of individuals. At Mersey Drive, we support our children to; be flexible, be creative, be proactive, solve problems, make decisions, think critically and communicate their ideas effectively.
We look forward to welcoming you to our community.
'Mersey Drive remains a good and improving school because of strengths in leadership, teaching and learning, pupils’ achievement and their personal development. Pupils continue to achieve well in their reading, writing and mathematics and are well prepared for their life beyond primary education.' Ofsted 2017
